A: The Express is available with a universal
rack that will fit almost any bike with 24", 26", 27" and
700c wheels (on a standard frame without rear suspension). Quickly convert
your existing bike to an electric bike in less than 1 hour.
A: The motor turns a friction wheel that drives
the rear tire. The Express has batteries, charger and motor all in one
easily removable unit. Since the Express pack is easily removable without
tools, you can ride with power or remove the pack for instant weight savings.
A: The Express delivers enough power to propel
you without pedaling. To prevent false starts before gaining control of
the bike, you must pedal to about 3 mph. Then, simply press the handlebar-mounted
lever to obtain 250 watts (1/3 HP) of continuous power. You can now choose
to pedal or not.
A: On level terrain, you can reach speeds of
12 - 15 mph (20-25 km/hr) without pedaling. The Express delivers enough
power for up to 10 miles (16.7 km). Terrain, rider weight and tire inflation
pressure affect results. Pedaling can increase both your range and speed.
Pedaling may be required to climb some hills.
A: The sealed, gel-cell lead acid batteries
should be charged after each use. Simply plug the power cord into a standard
outlet. Recharging takes 4 6 hours and costs less than a dime.
The batteries can be recharged several hundred times. The ETC 24 volt,
12 amp hour battery system delivers 20% more power than industry standard
batterie
A: The Express is designed for riders who do
the vast majority of their riding at less than 15 mph. However, a bike
with the ETC Express might be the perfect gift to help other family members
rediscover the joy of cycling! We frequently talk to satisfied users who
would not be riding their bikes at all if they did not have the power
of the ETC Express.
